Augmented Design - Poster Research

As my print campaign will include printed posters I wanted to research into different poster styles and formats that I can use to take influence from for my own designs.
Even though I can't interpret the writing the design is interesting and works as an exhibition poster. Most of these examples will be exhibition posters because I want to see how the placement of information works for different ones. Type hierarchy being used in posters such as these is important for the audience to take in the information properly and remember what is being shown.

Black and white photography with white text is very simple and works well at grabbing attention. I think this is something I will take influence from for my poster as it goes along with the new exposure aesthetic, which remains as a clean crisp look that doesn't distract the audience from the image, but also draws their eye to the text.

These Damien Hirst posters use half the page with an image each and then onto the information for the event. Which usually runs the same as most exhibition posters, which is the name of the event or artist being the largest set of text, then the date being the second largest and then being followed by the museum/gallery it is going to be held at.

Another example of a black and white image used on an exhibition poster with white text. This too stands out and creates for an attractive look. I'm sure that I will play around with some of my own black and white photographic images, then see how it will turn out.

This poster grabs your attention with the large text in white overlaying the pink smoke. I didn't notice the 'th' for a while. But it speaks out to the audience because of 'YOU' being so large and think it makes the design quite effective.
