The approach I want to take with my book on Hardware, is to have information that tells the reader about different instruments and their key use in the realm of sound and production. What there best used for and why artists use them. To be able to visualise these instruments/hardware, I don't just want to compile a huge amount of images found on the internet, but I'd rather create my own illustrations. I want to layout the book with full bleed designs, which could also be used as prints on their own and be screen printed. After looking at illustrative ways of visualising music equipment, I found different styles that presented really appealing aesthetics, which I want to incorporate into my own response to DP2. llew mejia and tatiana boyko are two artists who create impressive illlustrative styles that are different to each other. Tatiana's work consists of a lot of grainy shaded and simplified objects that are set to create alluring compositions, which are all together very bold and simple. Llew Mejia has a more vibrant and intricate approach to illustration, which overall grabs your attention with the colourful palette used on their work. Both of these illustrators work among others have influenced me into taking elements from different sources and combining them into my own style for the designs of instruments and hardware, which I will be doing for my physical response.
