After getting the idea to base my research for Dp2 on music production and hardware I was told about these prints which consist the patterns used on the Roland 808 that are famously used on these songs by different artists. These prints created by Rob Ricketts are apart of a series called, 'Program your 808'. The attention to detail is incredible, yet super simple. The use of just three colours is crazy. Including the dials and all the buttons on the 808 is awesome.
Rob Ricketts has also been the main graphic designer behind the posters for the 808 film.
On bleep.com I found more similar prints to those of the 808, but these produced by Entwurf outline the specifics of the instruments themselves as sort of diagrams. Roland Juno-60, Roland TB-303, Roland TR-808 and Technics 1210MK2 are all featured on the selection of work.
