Secret 7 - Final Designs / Submission

Before sending off the physical sleeve I decided to draw on the envelope, this was to just make more of an impact when they receive it through the post.

Digital Version
I wanted to submit a digital version of the physical so I simply added a gradient which looked appealing behind the design and inverted the colours of the eyes in the background.

On photoshop I cut out the eyes of the design as well as all the small white bits inside, this made the design more effective. The design started to pop out way more. I wasn't sure on the colour of the original file, so I started altering the Hues on photoshop and picked out 3 more variations that I found to present a better palette of colours on the design. The version with the orange hue stood out the most to me. I love it's vibrance. Even the colour just adds more patazz, more character to the design. Although these pastel designs were not set in stone to be submitted, as I kinda gave up with them at one point, they have turned out to be my favourite and in my opinion, the strongest work as a result of this brief.

I'm pleased with what I have achieved throughout this brief. It felt refreshing to stick to doing hand rendered designs.  My personal favourite is the basquiat face, I submitted this design for the born slippy track, not for any specific reason other than it's a crazy face and that track is wavy too. The process of not designing for a specific song is also refreshing, It gives more scope and freedom to do what I want and this is what I wanted to do with this brief. To enjoy making something visually appealing was the main goal. But I also made a design specifically for digital witness. So I had the best of both.  Expanding upon my illustrative style and learning new techniques has been very beneficial. I feel like that it has pushed my abilities to adapt to other visual styles and entwine it into other methods. Uncovering new ground with foiling was also very helpful, It got me accustomed to way Blenheim works and increased my confidence with the process.
