I had drawn a various amount of faces with a fine liner and then scanned them in. In illustrator I live traced them and began to create a seamless pattern.
Illustrator jpgs were not working on the site for some reason so I had to start using photoshop to finish off my seamless pattern. The dimensions I started to use were 53cm x 105cm. I began placing faces on the edges of the artboard, so that the faces on either the sides or the top and bottom would be matched up and look whole when the design is pasted. Once I had got all the faces aligned on the edges, I just had to fill in the spaces of the design. This meant overlaying a lot of the same faces again and again. Making them hide behind one another.
Final
After moving a lot of the faces back and fourth, I managed to fill up the canvas. When copying and pasting the same face, I had to place it further away from it's original so it didn't appear to close. Otherwise people might assume the faces are just copied and pasted relentlessly. A lot of the drawings are copied but are underneath the rest. I wanted to fill the whole design, so the audience could look deep into it and discover more within the design.
