Responsive - Honey Project

During the summer holidays my dad had got several hives of honey bees so he could eventually make his own honey. When talking about his on going honey project he mentioned that I should design his honey batch when he starts getting enough honey from the bees next year. So when the responsive brief came around I initially thought about doing a branding and packaging project for his honey and he agreed.

I visited my home for a couple days and took some images of my dads hives and some of the segments that fit into them. There are some really interesting textures and surfaces that are created from the result of honey bees.

I sat down with my father and we talked about how the project was going to be developed. It's his own hobby to help grow his own colony of honey bees and make his own as he has a big love for honey. There obviously isn't going to be any distribution for the sweet stuff when its made, as this is not a project for a company. There will be no distribution, the honey is locally sourced so it's going to be sold locally at our doorstep. This is what a lot of local bee keepers do and there is a community of them who sell their own as well from different counties across Britain.

Project Outline
What - To create a logo and packaging for his honey
Purpose - To make his honey visually appealing
Audience - Locals who want honey or people who are interested in honey
