Cinestill Film is a company that has a vision to give film photographers the opportunity to get motion cinema film quality in a still film format. We want to come across as an inventive, friendly company that can give their consumers something that others cannot. Cinestill has developed a product which no other 35mm & 120mm film company has produced, which gives us a unique selling point that will attract a lot of people who are interested in photographic film.
The target audience are film photographers in general, who use 35mm & 120mm film. But our audience is also for those who need of film that is capable of shooting in difficult low light tungsten situations. This is the main focus of Cinestill Film and this is what makes us stand out as a photographic film manufacturer. The 800Tungsten film is designed for difficult low light tungsten situations. It may be used in many different lighting situations to achieve a variety of looks but due to it's cool colour balance and halation some situations will have a more stylistic look that may or may not be desirable. The 800T film should be used when shooting conditions involving; tungsten light, candle light and fluorescent light. To enable the film to be fully functional for people to utilise, they made it safe for standard photo lab machines. CineStill film can still be processed in ECN-2
chemistry by hand without worrying about rem-jet. This creates a bigger chance for people to experiment with cinema film for their cameras!
In
order to make this technology accessible for any film photographer's workflow and to avoid the need for costly long-roll processing with motion picture labs, we
knew we had to make the film compatible with any still photography lab in the
world. The task was to take the film stock designed for ECN-2 motion picture processing and invent a treatment
to redesign it to be safe for standard C-41 still photography processing. This meant Cinestill had to find a way to eliminate
the rem-jet layer of motion picture film without contaminating the sensitive
emulsion. Remjet is an anti-halation layer on the film's base that acts as to protect from base scratches, static, and halation of highlights in exposure. After
years of research and development, tens of thousands of feet of wasted film and thousands of
hours of experimentation, an efficient and clean “Premoval” of the rem-jet layer
was achieved. The results are beyond that of any other films available to
still photographers today. Cinestill Film has found a gap in the market with their unique product for still photography and this makes us different.
We have achieved our goal in terms of creating a new and reliable product for photographic film. However for us to be able to get our name out there and connect to an audience, our ethos needs to be well established. Our visual identity has to reach out to the people interested in what we do and allow them to connect with the brand. The logo will allow people to associate with our company and enable them to recognise who we are. Our identity is implemented onto our online platforms and products which helps create awareness and finds an audience that can interact with Cinestill Film. The logo enforces the organisation and for it to be effective it will remain consistent throughout the brand.

Ultimately Cinestill will bring both the interface and the audience together using our effective visual identity and unique product.
