OUGD404 - Studio Brief 2 - What is a book? Development for remaining Layouts

Here are the small thumbnails for the remaining double page spreads.

As well as 'How Woodblock Type Is Made' and Digital & Traditional Offset Print.
As there are only 10 spreads, we still have to implement a contents and introduction. Therefore the 10 questions/statements have to fill up 9 spreads instead of 10. I put 'How Woodblock Type is Made' with 'Digital & Traditional Offset print' on a double page spread together.

Thumbnails for Design Movements and Influential Graphic Designer spreads.

As the contents and introduction contained the least amount of words and information I put it into a 10 column grid, only so that the information could be placed central on either side. Also so the page numbers could be aligned off from the central double page spread titles on the contents page.

I went for a more minimalist approach with this design layout. I wanted the colour models to be the main focus and be presented in the simplest manner. I used justification on the paragraphs so it created a clear column of text on the double page spread.

The hardest part with this spread for Design Movements was that there was alot of information needed to be put in place. I had to decrease the size to 11pt, where the rest of the text on the spreads is usually at 12. Putting the text to 11pt gave me a lot more freedom with this spread and allowed me to get it how I had planned to design it.

On my graphic designers spread I wanted the layout to allow the inside columns of either side to allow for 3 designers to be featured and the remaining 4 columns to feature 5, to add up to the 8 selected designers I chose. The title of the spread takes up a big enough space for one section, which means it left only 2 sections below it in the 2 columns.

For my Influential Typefaces spread I didn't want to use any images as I thought it wasn't neccessary. I already had all these fonts installed on my computer. The most difficult part of this was trying to get every font near enough at the same size because not all of them equal to each other when being the same amount of picas.
